The All India Football Federation (AIFF) is planning to a new tournament called Indian Super Cup from this year which will replace the Federation Cup founded in 1977. According to reports, the tournament will be a 16-team affair, involving top six teams each from ISL and I-League. The remaining four teams will be decided after playing in a qualifying tournament between the bottom-placed four teams each from the two leagues.While AIFF wants to organise the main tournament between April 1 and 30, the qualifiers will be held in the month of March.
